The Garbonacci I Scarf
NOTE: Pattern PDF has been uploaded. Yay!
Needle size - I used US #15, but you can use #13 if that’s all you have, and cast on 3-5 more stitches, to get the same scarf width. You will need more yarn though, to get the same scarf length.
I’ve been in love with the Fibonacci math sequence for a while now, and wanted to incorporate it in a knitting pattern. My first attempt wasn’t very elegant, as I was trying to do too much.
This time, I went back to the basic knit stitch, and restricted myself to two colors, and I think we have a winner here.
This infinity scarf pattern is more like a recipe, if you’d like to think of it that way.
I restrict the Fibonacci stripes to only 5, to add a pop of color to the scarf, then work the rest of the scarf in one color. You could decide to keep working the sequence (each number is the sum of the two previous numbers), and have a Fibonacci striped scarf of your own.
I know I tend to knit in bright, vivid colors, so I wanted a pattern that would allow a small pop of color, but have the main scarf body be in neutral, quieter tones for those who appreciate the subtler colors in life. :)
Hope you enjoy it!
PS: Garbonacci = Garter Fibonacci
