Simple stitches, yarn held doubled, and incredible colors all work together to create a cowl so great, it might even be the greatest of all time!

A beautiful marl unfolds as you hold two colors together at time, shifting colors as each package is opened. The project was specifically designed to use up every gorgeous inch of yarn, whether you use a curated kit of mini skeins or precious scraps. Please read through the pattern notes before beginning.

I originally designed this piece for The Fuzzy Goat’s Box of Goats, which contained 15 colors of Emma’s Yarn. This new version is written for 7 colors but modifications are given for using as many colors as you’d like. A perfect stash buster.

Materials:
Yarn: 7 colors, C1- C7 of Emma’s Yarn Practically Perfect Smalls, 80% Merino, 15% nylon, 20 grams/ 81 yards each, or a total of 600 yards in as many colors as you’d like. Yarn is held double throughout.

US size 9 (5.5mm), 24 inch circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
1 stitch marker
yarn scale (optional but super handy, my fav can be found here)

Gauge: 15sts/ 24 rows = 4 inches in reverse stockinette stitch, blocked. Take time to check gauge.

Finished measurements : circumference at cast on, 18inches. at bind off, 30inches. total length; 18inches

Skills required: Knit & Purl stitches, kfb increases, working in the round, stretchy bind off.
