This Pretty Harmony Grey Vest is deceivingly easy to construct - with either the join as you go method or working up all the squares first. Easy to adjust sizing by either decreasing or increasing the squares.

Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.

Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light - I used cotton yarn
Nurturing Fibres DK Eco-Cotton
Mist 50 gr x 2
Cobblestone 50 gr x 2
Charcoal 50 gr x 2

Hook: 3.25 mm (Clover D)

Size: approx 51 cm (20 inches) from shoulder fold to bottom edge; approx 54 cm (21/22 inches in width (side to side) laying flat.

Please Note: Fits my 6 year old daughter and is considered a Small Size (child).

Abbreviations:
CH - chain
SL ST - slip stitch
SC - single crochet
HDC - half double crochet
DC - double crochet
TR - treble crochet
BLP - back loop

PATTERN NOTES:

If you wish to make the squares first and not to join as you go you will repeat Squares instructions and fasten off after each one.
If you opt for the join as you go method you will only fasten off the very first square of each strip.
The vest consists of 2 long strips and 4 short strips - depending on size.

Small: 2 long strips; 4 short strips

Medium: 2 long strips; 5 short strips

Large: 2 long strips; 7 short strips

Size is easily adjusted by adding squares to length and adding strips for width.

IF you use different yarn and hook - size will also differ!
Tension/Gauge:

This is with my yarn and hook - each square measured approx. 3 x 3 inches (8 cm x 8 cm)
