The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Knitters
Use code HILLS to get 20% OFF at check out until end of 26 October. The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Knitters Beanie was designed for the Austrian Alps retreat held by Fruity Knitting at Lake Achen in Tyrol, Austria. I wanted to create a colourwork beanie hat that would evoke memories of the time knitting together by the Alps and enjoying the fresh mountain air in Autumn. A colourwork hat is the perfect accessory for us knitters to wear while trekking around the lake, taking in the breath-taking views of a mountain village. Available in four sizes, from older child to large adult!
Knit from the bottom up and worked in the round, the hat starts with a ribbed and folded brim for extra coziness. The main part of the hat features a stranded colourwork pattern depicting a mountain landscape, including flowers, Lake Achen, sailing boats and the green hills and mountains behind. There are sweet purl bump fluffy clouds in the sky, just as the stitches start to decrease for the top of the hat. The pattern includes four sizes, from child to large adult size. A pom-pom can be added for some extra whimsy if desired.
This hat design was made in collaboration with Yarnadelic Sport weight yarn, provided by John Arbon Textiles.
