The Jumper on the Cover
• This jumper is a good design for the not-so-expert knitter’s first effort in two colours. The pattern looks complicated, but try it out with any oddments of wool you happen to have and you will find out how very easy it really is—and how fascinating.
Materials: Of Paton’s Super (or “Beehive”) Scotch Fingering, 2-ply 3 ozs. in white and 2 ozs. in red. A pair No. 12, a pair No. 10 “Inox” knitting needles (Old UK). A No. 14. “Inox” crochet hook.
Tension: 8½ stitches = 1 inch.
Measurements: Bust, 34 inches; length, 18 inches; sleeve seam, 6 inches.
