Because this blanket is an “everything but the kitchen sink,” you can use stash or leftover yarns and supplement with additional yarns. You could also work the entire blanket in one yarn for a toned down look. Let your imagination run wild!

This is a great stash buster project, and you can throw in leftover partial skeins too!!! You can also mix and match yarns in the sections however you wish—just remember to adjust yardage accordingly

I designed this blanket to use up some stash yarn. It is knit on US 11 to give is an open and soft feel. Because of this, you do not need to worry too much about the weight of the yarns. Anything from DK to Bulky will work. Have something thinner? Double it or hold it with another yarn.

Yarn A: MAIN yarn in the blanket (660 yards)
Yarn B: Should be a yarn with texture--eyelash or other type of novelty yarn (85 yards)
Yarn C: Any worsted weight yarn that you like (224 yards)
Yarn D: Textured yarn, such as a lumpy rayon (150 yards)
Yarn E: Any worsted weight yarn that you like (196 yards)

Yarn used in pattern picture: Yarn A—2 skeins of JarboGarn Duo (330 yards); Yarn B--1 skein of Crystal Palace Yarns Splash (85 yards); Yarn C--2 skeins of Feza Polo (112 yards); Yarn D--2 skeins of Knit One Crochet Too Truffles (73 yards); Yarn E--2 skeins Tahki Cotton Classic (98 yards).

Note In Double Moss sections: Because you have 121 stitches, this will end with a odd stitch. For example, your first RS row will end with a K1.

Patterns sold prior to 7/9/2009 listed yarn C as 124 yards, but it should have said 224.

Printed patterns (fixed in PDF):
YO sections:
RS: YO, K2tog all the way across the row, ending with a K1 right before the 2nd marker.
WS: P2TOG, P across the rest of the row.
(Note the P2TOG addition.)*
