From the Pattern Description: The Learn-To-Knit Afghan attempts to do what has probably never been done before, to combine all kinds of knitting techniques in a single project. By the time you finish it, you will know somethng about the enormous variety of fabrics that knitting can make, and you will be firmly grounded in a basic knowledge of the techniques that make them. Some of the patterns in this afghan are old classics that have been used for centuries; others are original inventions. To give a sampling of both, as well as a survey course in all aspects of knitting, much care has gone into the selection of these patterns.
