This striking color-blocked cowl, is worked flat and then seamed to create a fun, easy cowl that’s an eye-catching knit. A half side seam allows the cowl to comfortably hug your neck, and drape beautifully across your shoulders. Whether you work with one color or two, the sinuous curves of the cable will pop to make this a truly exceptional cowl.

This cowl can be worked in one or two (or more) colors. Instructions for both single, and two colors are given.

For the two-color version, divide your yarn as follows:
MC - one ball x 210 yds, 3 balls x 60 yds.
CC - 3 balls x 60 yds.

It’s easy to get holes in your work where two colors meet. To avoid this, take the yarn you’re using, over the top and to the left of the new yarn, and bring your new yarn, up and around the old yarn, and begin working with it. This creates a lock around the yarns and avoids those holes.

Lay your yarn balls in a basket, large yarn bowl or project bag in the order they’re knitted to also help avoid yarn tangles.

That being said, yarn tangles are unavoidable! Take the time every dozen or so rows to gently untangle and rearrange your balls.

If you’re following the chart, use a colored pencil to color in all your knit stitches and cables - it makes it much easier to “read”.
