The Maxi Slouch
I got married at a camp in Georgian Bay in August and needed a quick knit to wear in case the weather turned. And in Ontario, Canada, in August, the weather can go anywhere fast! I made this garment to slip over my dress and, although it is very simple, I loved it so much that I made many, many more. I decided to name it the “Slouch” because the “shrug” is a thing, so why not a “slouch?” It looks just as good over a dress or a tank as it does over a coat, and it can be made of any fiber—all of which makes it a great multi-seasonal accessory.
This slouch was originally knit with Berroco Souffle (49% acrylic, 34% wool, 17% baby alpaca, each approximately 1.75oz 50g and 54yd 50m), in color 9308. This yarn is discontinued but many yarns can be substituted. Matching the fiber construction is not necessary, but matching gauge is. Check out yarnsub.com for substitution ideas.
