A satire of modern-day politicians, the mayor of Halloween Town is the skittish and indecisive official with two faces and a candy corn-shaped body. When confident and happy, he wears a huge smile on his face, but when stressed or sad, his face rotates to reveal a distressed frown. Topped with a top hat, a black widow spider bow tie that had been hiding in his megaphone, and a jaunty mayor ribbon, the quirky mayor has very little true authority in running Halloween Town. He looks to Jack for any decision making, even pestering him about next Halloween the day after, and he publicly supports Jack’s Christmas plan, despite his own misgivings.

Vote “yey” or “nay” with a simple wave of your hand! Knit in the round from the bottom up starting with corrugated ribbing, the two faces of the mayor are worked on opposite mittens in stranded colorwork. A desperately unsure mayor on one hand, with a maniacally confident mayor on the other, by holding the two mittens together, both reactions can be seen at once! Swirl motifs dance along the palm sides with afterthought thumbs placed while knitting, then added on at the end.
