Dumplings, pierogis, ravioli, samosas—every culture has some way to wrap food inside a pastry or dough and make it easy to hold. Momos are a type of steamed dumpling common in East and South Asia. This little bag can carry your phone or your wallet; if you want to put your knitting in it, make sure to put caps on the needles so that the needles don’t poke out!

The pattern was originally knit in Queensland Dungarees, but that has now been discontinued. You want a firm, solid, plant-based yarn (cotton, linen, hemp) that isn’t going to grow or stretch. Your specific gauge isn’t important; you want a nice, solid fabric. You could size up by using a thicker yarn with correspondingly bigger needles.
