The Perennial Bag
The Perennial bag is an intermediate pattern, using clusters to form a granny square motif which is then assembled into a bag.
A classy bag lined with fabric and having a shoulder strap, meant for everyday use. Ideal for carrying while wearing casual clothes but dressy enough for taking to the office or out for an evening.
It comes in one size only but the granny square motif could be easily assembled into different sizes or styles of bag with the only limit being your imagination!
I have added a chart of the motif to assist you in making your bag.
I used a beautiful Linen/Silk yarn but any yarn with a limited amount of stretch would be suitable…the bag has an optional lining which helps it to retain its shape.
Because it is a bag then gauge isn’t really that important unless you want the result to be the same size, you could use any of the beautiful yarns you have in your stash providing you choose a suitable hook size…do be aware that your bag will vary from the size given if you choose a different weight of yarn.
The Perrenial Bag has been tested by the wonderful testers in The Happy Hookers Hangout.
This pattern has been tech edited by the wonderful (and patient) boricuacrochet who can be found here on Ravelry if you are in need of a tech editor.
