The Power of Laughter
The Power of Laughter Wrap was designed as part of a meet-up each year for the lovers of all things Disney called “Stitch The Magic”, which is held at Disney World. The yarn colorways are inspired by a Disney movie from indie dyers, Dizzy Blonde Studios and Beach Bunny Yarns. In this case, the movie is Monsters, Inc.
You’ll have to watch the movie to know the ending, but it helped me decide on the inspiration for The Power of Laughter Wrap. The Tilted Doors pattern is directly inspired by the closet doors that the monsters use to enter the human world, but the Laughter Bubbles eyelet pattern rise and create Power Waves which show the generation of energy in the monster world. This wrap pattern is a rectangle worked on the bias, which adds to the tilted world view of this film.
They say laughter is the best medicine and the power of it can change worlds. We could all use a bit more laughter in our lives and the joy that comes from it can be contagious. Sit back, close your eyes, think of the last time you enjoyed a hearty laugh and feel the lightness that it brings to your soul. The laughter bubbles from within you, enters the world and makes it a better place for everyone.
