Skill level: Beginner
The Queen’s Cowl is inspired by heroic queens throughout history and can be worn as hood for when you need to move from palace to palace in disguise. The triangular motif on the top and bottom edges of the cowl is reminiscent of a crown. Worsted weight yarn, a simple stitch pattern, and lots of stockinette worked in the round combine to make this a quick knit for any level knitter.
Pattern is provided in charted and written form.
Construction Details:
The Queen’s Cowl is worked in the round using a simple knit/purl pattern. Stitches are decreased at the top of the cowl to create a slight taper to keep the cowl securely on the head when worn as a hood.
Skills Required:
Cast On/Bind Off
Joining in the Round
Knit/Purl
Decreasing (SSK/K2tog)
Tubular Bind Off (optional)
Weaving in ends
Videos for many of these techniques are available on Shaina’s Tube Channel and are linked in the pattern as well.
