The Revolution Shrug
A bias-knit shrug with fitted, ¾ length sleeves and a subtle pinstripe lace motif, all highlighted by a unique geometric construction. If desired, the spiral sleeve seams can be finished with lacing or a zipper, allowing the shrug to be converted to a shawl.
The shrug is knit in two mirror-image halves, which are seamed together up the back (forming a geometric-U-ish-shape, which would make a lovely shawl). Then the sleeve seams are sewn, which spiral around the arm to the armpit. This creates the spiraling/diagonal stripe pattern seen around the arms.
The ribbed lace fabric is very stretchy, and will accommodate many sizes, especially after a good blocking. A detailed schematic is included, if you would like to calculate additional sizes (some geometry skill recommended!) ;)
Pattern Note: When beginning the Pinstripe Lace (after working the Setup Chart), maintain the YO and slip stitch columns as established. Specifically, there is one selvedge knit stitch on the straight edge of section B that is not included in the Pinstripe Lace charts.
