The Season Scarf
Much like “temperature blankets,” the idea here is to create a scarf that becomes a visual representation of the Blue Jays’ 50th MLB season – with every win and loss represented by a different colour stripe.
This is a very simple pattern, with instructions on how to make it your own and follow the Jays along all 162 baseball games. If you are a beginner this is a great first project and I have included links to some basic tutorials for casting on, knit and purl which may help :)
You will need approximately 320–420 metres (350–460 yards) of yarn for the 135 cm scarf option (2 rows per game), or 480–630 metres (525–690 yards) for the 202 cm scarf option (3 rows per game). The exact amount of course will vary depending on the number of wins and losses.
The instructions are for knitting, but a similar principle would work in crochet, too.
Of course, this can be used for any MLB team :) (also works well for for NBA and NHL - just double the rows)
I hope you enjoy it. I would love to see your projects – share with me on Instagram @karlacourtney.
