The fiber content may alter the gauge, and a change in the gauge will alter the size and the amount of yarn needed. Use a larger hook if there are more stitches than gauge calls for, and a smaller hook if there are fewer. Steam blocking is recommended for the finished hat to loosen the stitches and give it a finished look. If adding a leather or faux leather tag, remember to remove it before washing.
