Get some serious thinking done in this beanie. You’ve already got a head start on looking like you’re deep in thought with the furrows of this hat running across your brow.

Fortunately, working the hat itself won’t require much thinking on your part since that’s all been done for you so you can keep yourself wrinkle free.

A short beanie style, this hat combines three cables separated by garter furrows. Simple ribbing from the brim is repeated above the cabled section and decreased in pattern. Super stretchy nature by design, there’s a size here to fit just about everyone on the planet!

Gauge
17 st. and 24 rows to 10cm/4” over stockinette stitch
20 st. to 10cm/4” over 1x1 ribbing, unstretched

Brim widths
11”, 13”, 15.5”, 17”, 19”, 22”; roughly 2”-4” negative ease

Additional Notes

  • Hat has serious amount of stretch to it. The 17” size fit on both my (22”) and my husband’s (25”) rather large heads. It should fit a wide range of heads within the size range, especially if you like your hats snug. The Adult L size was added for those who don’t.

  • Sizes are color-coded. Just follow your choosen color through the pattern. Color has been tested to ensure it works in grayscale as well if you wish to print without color.

  • This is meant to be a short-ish beanie style hat, just covering the ears. Instructions are given for adding length.

  • Thank you to my lovely testers from the Wool-Aid group on Ravelry - Carolyn, Diane, Linda, Sue and Claire!
