This is a very personal pattern. I knitted many of these hats in all colours of the rainbow as a gift for members of my family, my friends and of course for myself. It’s just “the” hat to me aka The Urban Hat, and I hope you like it as much as I do.

YARN
Lana Grossa Brigitte No.2 (47% Alpaka, 45% Cotton, 8% Wool)
A 2 x 50g balls
B 1 x 50g ball
The yarn is available in more than 30 shades. Just choose two colours you like!

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
Gauge-size and below gauge-size needles (40cm / 16in)
Gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working crown shaping
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
22 sts and 34 rounds to 10cm / 4in over stockinette on gauge-size needle(s).
Use 4mm / US 6 needle as a starting point for swatching.
Do not be irritated by the fact that Lana Grossa recommends 6 – 6,5cm needles for this yarn. I use a much smaller needle size which creates a dense and warm but still light fabric.

SIZE
One size to fit head circumference: 51 – 56cm / 20-22in
Height from brim to crown: 26cm / 10.24in
Depending on your preferences, the hat can be strechted and blocked to a more or less slouchy shape.
