The Wanderer Sweater for Kids
For the child that loves to be outdoors running around, this sweater is for her. It’s made to be a bit baggy, so there will be no worrying about them outgrowing it in one season. And by using bulky yarn you will know she is warm while out at play – even if she forgets her jacket!
MATERIALS
- #5 bulky yarn (requirements below)
- Crochet Hook - Size L (8mm)
- Yarn needle
FINISHED SIZES
- 2/4 – 27” circumference, 12½” long
- 6/8 – 30” circumference, 15½” long
- 10/12 – 35” circumference, 18” long
- 14/16 – 36 ¾” circumference, 19¼” long
SKILL LEVEL: This pattern is for the advanced beginner - using sc, dc, and minimal increasing and decreasing. Directions written so that they are easy to read and follow. The sweater is made in panels (front and back), plus sleeves. Then pieces are sewn together and collar is added.
All patterns are in English, and written in standard US terms.
YARN
- 2/4 – 600 – 640 yds
- 6/8 – 640 – 710 yds
- 10/12 – 710 – 750 yds

I used Red Heart Heads Up for my green sample, but that has been discontinued. My testers used other #5 and were happy with their results.
