The original pattern for the Wilderness Sweater, knitted in the Icelandic yarn Alafosslopi, was published in the spring of 2017. Ever since the pattern was published, people have been asking if it can be knitted in the yarn Vams. This yarn is chunky, but very light and airy. Vams is also much softer than Alafosslopi. I have therefore now created a new version of the Wilderness Sweater. This version is oversized, light, and airy. The Wilderness sweater VAMS has a gauge of 14 stitches per 10 cm, while the original has a gauge of 13 stitches per 10 cm. Enjoy your knitting! ❤️

10 cm of stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles = 14 stitches
10 cm of stranded knitting on 7 mm needles = 14 stitches

(The stated needle size is only a guideline. If you get more stitches than indicated per 10 cm, go up a needle size. If you get fewer stitches than indicated per 10 cm, go down a needle size).

Yarn: Vams from Rauma Ullvarefabrikk (83 meters per 50 grams). Vams is a light and airy yarn made of 100% Norwegian wool.
