The Yellowstone Cowl is a one-of-a-kind cowl with horizontal braids. It was designed to go with the Yellowstone Hat, but looks great by itself. Knit with chunky yarn, this is a fast and fun project, easily finished in a day.

The pattern is for a one-size-fits-all cowl, but instructions are given on how to reduce or increase the size of the cowl to whatever you need, whether it’s for a baby or child. The given pattern should fit most adults.

Skill Level: Intermediate
You will need to know how to knit in the round on circular needles, and how to knit and purl. Instructions given on how to complete certain stitches in the pattern may be confusing for a beginning knitter.

Suggest yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick in Spice.

Needle size: 10mm, 16 inch circular needles

The gauge is 11 stitches and 17 rows to 5” in the stockinette stitch. Make sure to check your gauge; this pattern, as written, will use up all of one skein. If you are worried about not having enough yarn, I would suggest buying an extra skein.
