I wanted to design a simple cowl with loads of texture, that uses at least one variegated yarn. I have used ‘Tweed Imps’ and ‘Silver and Bronze’ colourways, but you could use two solid colours, or even two different variegated yarns.
The stitch pattern is simple with gently undulating stripes, to let the yarns really shine.
The result is a tall squishy cowl, which you can play with and fold as you prefer, or pull up about your face if it is windy.
Vivacious is a very plump DK yarn with loads of bounce and body, and it is also really smooth so is great for crochet. You could substitute another DK, but do check your tension.
I have used 1 x 115g skein of each colour. If you only have one skein you could probably just make a one coloured version- it would still have plenty of texture.
This pattern is written in UK terminology, but is very easy to translate as there are only a few stitches used. However, if you would like help converting to US terms please just ask, thank you.
