  • 3 different bag sizes (S-M-L) with light weight, worsted, and bulky yarns, respectively. Gauge and other information listed above is for the Medium sized bag.

Dyed in the Wool Hand Painted Mop Cord (bulky cotton) was used in the original bags.

One pattern/three gauges. The idea is simple: knit a square bottom for the bag; pick up stitches around this square and knit in the round, adding increases to form the front, back, and side panels; finally, knit two top sections and add handles.

Size / gauge / yardage is based on yarn weight used.

Small bag is made with lightweight yarn, 140 yards, 21 stitches x 37 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.

Medium bag is made with medium yarn, 165 yards, 18 stitches x 25 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.

Large bag is made with bulky yarn, 300 yards, 10 stitches x 16 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.
