Tibet
“Tibet” is a triangle shawl knitted on a bias in textured pattern with small helping of garter stitch. By adding border knitted using short rows the triangle will have 2 even length sides, though it starts as an asymmetric one.
It is pretty shallow yet long so it can be worn as a scarf, pretty versatile I would think. The size is adjustable.
Tibet is very easy to knit, the colours and pattern change frequently so there is no time to get bored with it.
Dimensions are 84”long and 22,5” at center back for a medium size.
This pattern can be knitted in any weight yarn, though fingering weight is suggested. In general 1 skein of each colour of sock yarn is enough to make medium size.
The samples are shown in:
Bijou Basin Ranch “Lhassa Wilderness” blue/brown (1.25skeins = 220m) and Hedgehog Fiber yak yarn in natural brown 1 skein (350m)
The Uncommon Thread Lush Twist sock yarn in “Charred” and “Cerulean” - size large uses 1.25 and 1 skein respectively.
The pattern is written. It is very easy, however, one must be familiar with short row technique.
“Tibet” is modern fun and perfect for any day!
