When asked what her favorite flower was, my youngest daughter almost immediately said ‘Tiger Lily!’ This beauty is one of the oldest cultivated flowers. It has even been found in ancient Chinese texts over 2000 years old! It is a symbol of wealth and prosperity as well as confidence. Due to the little black specks on each petal, there is a funny myth that if you smell a Tiger Lily, you will get freckles!
Now you can bring the beauty of a tiger lily flower into your home by making this double knit square. You can make it your favorite shade of orange, too! If you’re unfamiliar with double knitting, this small potholder is a great way to learn this knitting technique. Both sides are the same, except with reversed colors. You’ll get the accomplishment of finishing a beautiful project and the confidence of adding a new skill to your knitting basket.
With this instantly downloadable PDF pattern, you’ll have all the help you need to get started!
This pattern includes written instructions, a chart, and links to video tutorials for the invisible cast on, invisible bind off, slip stitch edging, and I-cord loop. You’ll end up with a professional looking finished project that you’ll be proud to give as a gift or keep and put on display.
