INTRO

Tilia Cardigan is a lightweight, relaxed cardigan designed for those in-between moments: the first afternoons of spring, slow summer mornings, seaside walks when the breeze begins to cool the air, and those first days when you can start to feel autumn approaching.

Its lace motifs create a soft, airy fabric inspired by the delicate blossoms of the linden tree (Tilia), known for its subtle fragrance and light shade.

Construction

Work the back to the underarm, shaping the shoulders with increases.
Pick up and knit stitches for each front, which are worked separately to shape the V-neck.
Join the two fronts and the back, and continue working to the body rib.
Pick up and knit the sleeve stitches, which are worked in the round.
The front band is worked at the end, picking up stitches along both fronts and the neck.

GAUGE

In the stitch pattern described below, worked flat with 4.00 mm US 6 needles, after washing and blocking the swatch:

Note: The amount of yarn is calculated based on the measurements given in the pattern.

NEEDLES:
Main: 4.00 mm US 6 circular needles.
Ribbing: 3.50 mm US 4 circular needles.

CABLES:
Body: 80 or 100 cm 32 or 40″ cable.
Sleeves: 40 cm 16″ cable (or a longer cable if you prefer to use magic loop). You can also use double-pointed needles.

EXTRAS:
Optional: snap fasteners. I used 6, placing them 7 cm 2 ¾″ apart. If you choose to add snap fasteners, you will also need thread in a color as close as possible to your knitting yarn.

Stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders for holding stitches, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, a measuring tape or ruler, and scissors.

INTRO

Tilia Cardigan es una chaqueta ligera y relajada para las primeras tardes de primavera, las mañanas lentas de verano, los paseos junto al mar cuando la brisa empieza a refrescar y para esos primeros días en los que se empieza a notar la llegada del otoño.

Sus sencillos calados crean un tejido suave y aireado, inspirado en la delicada floración del tilo (Tilia), conocido por su sutil fragancia, su sombra ligera y su belleza tranquila a comienzos del verano.

Construcción

Se trabaja la espalda hasta la sisa, dando forma a los hombros con aumentos.
Se levantan y tejen puntos para cada delantero, que se tejen por separado, dando forma al escote en pico.
Se unen los dos delanteros y la espalda, y se continúa tejiendo hasta el elástico final.
Se retoman los puntos de las mangas, que se tejen en circular.
La tapeta se trabaja al final, levantando puntos alrededor de ambos delanteros y el cuello.

En el punto descrito a continuación, tejido en plano, con agujas de 4.00 mm US 6, después de lavar y bloquear la muestra.
