Tinsel Sweater
This jumper is such fun! Reminiscent of ’80s batwing
jumpers, it’s made using a soſt and fluffy yarn worked
with a metallic thread for an added sparkle.
MATERIALS
● Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk,
77% alpaca/23% silk,
25g/140m/152yds
Yarn A: Forest Green 11
x 5 (7, 9, 11) balls
Yarn B: Hot Pink 31 x 2 (3,
4, 5) balls
Yarn C: Off White 01 x 2 (3,
4, 5) balls
Yarn D: Red 07 x 2 (3, 4,
5) balls
● Drops Glitter,
10g/700m/766yds
Yarn E: Gold 01 x 1 (1, 2,
2) ball(s)
● 5mm hook
TENSION
Work 15 sts and 13 rows to
measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in
using 5mm hook, or size
required to obtain tension.
Tinsel Sweater
Work a tension swatch
as follows:
17ch.
Row 1: (RS) 1htr in third ch from
hook and in each ch across,
turn – 15 sts.
Row 2: (WS) 2ch (does
not count as st here and
throughout), 1htr in each st to
end, turn.
Rows 3–5: Rep Row 2,
alternating RS/WS.
Row 6: (WS) 1ch (does
not count as st here and
throughout), loop st in each
st to end, turn.
Row 7: (RS) 1ch, 1dc in each
st to end, turn.
Row 8: (WS) 1ch, loop st in
each st to end, turn.
Rows 9–13: Rep Row 2,
alternating RS/WS.
