Tinsley is an over-sized dropped shoulder V-neck vest. The front and back are worked flat from the bottom up, separately; and then sewn together at the seams. The collar trim and armholes trim is worked in the round as the last step. You can use DK yarn for a lighter airy vest or Worsted Weight yarn for a thicker, warmer and more substantial garment, just make sure the gauge is accurate. Use cotton or silk DK yarn for a vest that you could wear in the summer and spring over a cami or a t-shirt.
SIZE
XS (S, M, L, XL)
Choose your size based on your hips measurement.
Hips Circumference in inches for each corresponding size: 34 (37, 40, 44, 48).
YARN
Recommended Yarn and Yardage:
760 (800, 850, 900, 960) yards of Worsted or DK weight yarn that gives you the correct gauge. Use 100% wool or wool blend with a bit of a stretch for a warmer garment, or make it with cotton, bamboo, silk blends for a lighter vest to wear over a cami or a t-shirt in warmer weather.
NEEDLES
US 6 (4 mm) circular or straight needles used for the trim.
US 8 (5 mm) circular or straight needles used for the body of the vest.

GAUGE
12 sts x 20 rows = 4”x4” in Mesh Pattern (see Mesh Pattern Chart on page 7) using US 8 (5 mm) needles after blocking.
16 sts x 32 rows = 4”x4” in 2x2 rib (knit 2 sts, purl 2 sts, rep from * for the number of sts CO for the gauge check) using US 6 (4 mm) needles after blocking.
Adjust needle size, if necessary, to obtain the correct gauge.

I used next yarn to make a sample and for test knitting ( all came to about 800 yards for a size S):
Worsted Yarn: Noro Kureyon 100% Wool; 110 yards per 50g skein; color - 321 Lot D

Sugarbush Rapture 50% LlamaSoft, 50% superfine merino wool; 211 yards per 100g skein; color - 1006 Forest Fury.
DK Yarn: BC Garn Semilla 100% Organic Wool; 175 yards per 50g skein; color - 02 (black)
