This adorable set was inspired by my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter who asked if I would knit her a pink hat. Then she wanted to know what else I could knit for her - her suggestion? Boots! I told her that wasn’t possible, but I could knit her a scarf. She loved the idea and this is the set I came up with for both her and her younger sister.

Caron Simply Soft 100% acrylic yarn is perfect for this project. It is extremely soft and it machine washes well. The hat is double-stranded while knitting and the scarf is knit in the round making it doubly warm as well.

Follow the pattern or add stripes as you would like.
