Tiny Easter basket
Despite its small size, this Easter basket has an interesting “woven” texture, and can fit up to four of the teensy eggs. Originally designed for my Hooded rats, it would work just as well for any similar size amigurumi, it would look great in a dollhouse, and it could make a quick & cute Easter gift.
Size
The basket is about 4cm (3 ½”) diameter and the eggs are about 2cm (¾”) long, if they are made with DK yarn and 3mm hook.
Tools and materials:
~ yarn in brown for the basket, and in 3-4 colors for the eggs
~ crochet hook that gives you a tight, no-gaps fabric
~ fiberfill
~ stitch marker, scissors, yarn needle
Difficulty
This is an intermediate level pattern suitable for crocheters who are confident with basic stitches and frequently used amigurumi techniques (ch, sc, sl st, magic ring, invisible decrease). There is no sewing apart from weaving in the ends on the basket and closing the egg’s bottom. The “basket weave” texture is created by spike stitches - much simpler than it seems!
The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology.
