Tipsor socks – a little skewed and a lot simple, always beautiful in gorgeous hand dyed self-striped yarn.

Worked from cuff to toe, including a short row heel turn. Both foot and leg length are fully adjustable, perfect for using all your yarn – make them as short or long as you like.

Designed to be worn with 1 to 3.75cm / .5 to 1.5 inch negative ease through foot

Needles and notions
DPN or circular needles of 2.5mm (US1.5) or size required to make gauge.
3 stitch markers.

Yarn
Biscotte Yarns | Bis-Sock (85% merino, 15% nylon; 400m – 434 yds) : 300 (340, 380, 425) metres - 320 (370, 410, 460) yards in self-striping colourway.
Changing the length of the foot or leg will alter your yarn requirement

Gauge
34 sts and 40 rows = 10cm/4 inches in stocking stitch in the round

NOTES
Tipsor are mid-calf socks with an elliptical stripe on the leg concluding at the heel turn. The design is suitable for self striping yarns where the stripes’ lengths vary and the colors have good contrast. To attain this striping effect the leg requires a greater than regular number of stitches for a sock so a longer run of at least one color works best. The stripes on the leg alternate between stockinette and garter stitch, while the garter stitch continues on the instep stripes, the sole stitches are worked in stockinette stripes for maximum comfort. The heel turn reduces the number of stitches back to the original amount for working the foot. The pattern includes a star toe. The pattern includes full written instructions only.
