Titi Parisien
Titi Parisien is inspired by the fictional character of Gavroche, street urchin in the novel ‘Les Misérables’ by Victor Hugo (1862).
Gavroche is the archetype of a titi parisien (= Parisian kid): smart, prankster… Cheeky until he dies, shot while he was collecting cartridges in front of the barricades, while singing:
Je suis tombé par terre / C’est la faute à Voltaire. / Le nez dans le ruisseau / C’est la faute à Rousseau.
