Tlemcen Socks
This pattern is included in the book, Keepers of the Sheep: Knitting in Morocco’s High Atlas and Beyond.
These socks were inspired by historical descriptions of knitting in Algeria. They are knit in the round from the toe up with sport weight yarn; although, they can be knit with a variety of yarn weights and needle sizes. Further information about the pattern and an essay on the history of knitting in North Africa can be found in the book.
