Thanks to the magic of short rows, the toes of this paw stocking are worked individually, but without any breaking of the yarn, and the shape of the paw is established and outlined in just a few steps. The stocking works up quickly and elegantly, and the fulled fabric is sturdy enough for all your pets favorite toys and treats!

Gauge is not especially important, and any fullable worsted wool will do for a stocking approximately 8” wide and 16” long. Make a petite version or an even larger version by adjusting yarn weight and needle size appropriately.

As written, the pattern will use less than 190 yards in each of two colors, and just a few yards of a third contrasting color for paw pads and any additional embellishments you choose to add.
