Pattern Description from InterweaveStore.com:
To extend sandal season, the designer began experimenting with creating a separate big toe at the end of her socks. She tried several toe shapes before she found one that was truly comfortable.

Finished Size: About 8” foot circumference with instep ribbing slightly stretched, and 9 (9½)“ long from back of heel to tip of big toe, to fit women’s U.S. shoe sizes 6 to 7 (7½ to 8½).

Yarn: Plymouth Sockotta Sock (45% cotton, 40% wool, 15% nylon; 414 yd [378 m]/50 g): 1 (2) balls. Shown in #11 gray/blue/orange/gold multi in smaller size with Middle East wrap cast-on; and #12 pink/green/yellow/blue multi in larger size using invisible provisional cast-on.

Yarn Weight: #1 - Super Fine

Needles:

  • Toes and Foot—Size 0 (2 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn).
  • Top of Leg—Size 1 (2.5 mm): set of 5 dpn.
  • Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: Tapestry needle; small stitch holders or waste yarn.
