TOKYO CARDIGAN

Tokyo Cardigan is a simple, romantic cardigan with delicate puff sleeves, a fine pattern on the body (knit with 3.5 and 6 mm respectively), ribbing edges and buttons along the front band. The cardigan is knit top down, which makes it easier to adjust the length to your preferences. The combination of the yarns used makes the cardigan perfect for autumn and spring days and cooler summer nights.

The pattern comes in 8 different sizes; from XXS to 3XL, and it’s knit back and forth on circular needles. The pattern has a moderate difficulty level due to the increases/decreases, short rows and Italian/tubular bind off plus the change in needle sizes on the body.

The cardigan takes shape by knitting a rectangular back piece and increase for armholes. Then first the right and then the left front pieces are knit, while also increasing for the V-neck. After finishing the armholes the front pieces and the back are connected under the arms. Then the cardigan is knit flat till the desired length. The body is finished with a decorative ribbing edge. As a final touch a front band with buttons is added.

The sleeve sts are picked up in the armholes and are knit with German short rows and increases/decreases, so the sleeves end up with a nice puff shape.

I hope you will enjoy your #tokyocardigan
as much as I have enjoyed designing it!

SIZES
The cardigan pattern comes in 8 different sizes; from XXS to 3 XL. The chest sizes (without the front band) measures between 84 to 131 cm.

MATERIALS
I have made two versions of the cardigan in handdyed yarns that are not listed here on Ravelry. You can choose any yarn base that will give you the same gauge - 19.5 sts/27 rows with 6 mm needles over 10 x 10 cm.

I have used the following yarn bases:
Cashmere silk from By Emra (425 m / 100 g). XXS uses 200 g for the cardigan, 3XL uses 500 g.
Silkmohair from Kaos Yarn (420 m / 50 g). XXS uses 100 g for the cardigan, 3XL uses 250 g.
