NOTES
• For techniques you don’t know, please visit our online knitting glossary at www.interweave.com/interweave-knitting-glossary.
• The hat and mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up. Only one color is used in each round.
• The Vikkel braid instructions in the Stitch Guide specify how to work one braid stitch with two colors. The hat and mittens instructions specify which colors to use for each stitch as well as the color pattern repeat.
• When working with double-pointed needles for the mittens, arranging the stitches as follows will make it easier to work cables and shift the beginning of round marker: stitches 1–13 on the first needle, stitches 14–27 on a second needle, stitches 28–41 on a third needle, stitches 42–55 on a fourth needle, and stitch 56 on the first needle. The beginning of round is the second stitch on the first needle.
