Description: Top off your favorite beverage and usher in a new year with this festive coaster (and it is also a fun way to use up small amounts of yarn in the stash)! The pattern is worked in mosaic garter stitch—just one strand works every two rows while the other strand rests at the edge. The sample gauge and dimensions are provided in DK weight cotton-linen fiber (intentionally knit at a tighter gauge). Choose colors that contrast well. Try your camera’s “black & white” setting to look at your yarns in grayscale and check the contrast between color selections. The pattern provides full written instructions with (optional) positive and negative charts for making useful household linens and gifts.
