Tornved
This easy shawl is knitted top-down using just one skein of beautiful hand-dyed sock yarn. It offers optional beading and intuitive instructions on how to modify its size.
Tornved is named after the small hamlet in rural Denmark where my great-grandmother, Lily, lived in a cottage. She raised 18 children during the Great Depression and World War II – with no running water and with a kerosene stove to heat the home. Lily taught me to knit when I was very young and this shawl was designed with her in mind.
