Totelly Tote 1
No, I did not make a mistake naming the pattern! Naming anything can be hard. I came up with this playful word,”Totelly”. Not bad for a tote bag, right? There are going to be more tote patterns under the same name hence the number 1.
The bag is worked in rounds, in mosaic knitting. The size is adjustable. The mosaic pattern is charted and written out. The charts are also given in reversed colours for ease of use in case you decide to swap the light and dark colours in your bag.
Create intricate colourwork with just one yarn in hand at a time.
Mosaic knitting is perfect for beginners attempting colourwork for the first time. If you’ve worked stripes in two colours, you can work mosaic knitting. Mosaic patterns are created by slipping stitches from the stripe below without working them.
The sample was made in Aran / Worsted / 10 ply recycled cotton yarn, Knitting Essentials Natura Cotton. A lurex thread was carried with a contrasting colour to add some sparkle. Different yarn weights and fibres can be used but this affects the size of the bag and the amount of yarn needed.
