Touchstone
Make this easy fitting drop-shoulder pullover for yourself or someone in your circle of friends and family. With it’s positive ease, roomy sleeves and mix of textures, Touchstone is sure to be a new favorite that layers comfortably for an everyday vintage modern vibe. Two sleeve length and cuff options add to the possibilities for making this pullover exactly as you like.
Plied Yarns Penn Ave in Semi-Solids and Twists can be mixed and matched for endless color combinations. Go neutral, subtle, dramatic or tonal. The mini mosaic stripes provide playful texture and simple contrast between stockinette sections.
This yarn is a bouncy woolen spun that knits up beautifully at 16 sts to 4” gauge. The fabric is soft and light for a substantial worsted weight 2 ply. You will love how it feels to wear Penn Ave in this positive ease and boxy style pullover.
Choose 4-10” positive ease for a comfortable fit.
Touchstone is a beginner to intermediate level sweater project. You can learn the handful of techniques as you make this sweater, if they are new to you! A detailed glossary and link for 3 Needle Bind Off is included in the pattern, and instructions are well written and test knit. The pullover is knit in the round from the bottom hem to the underarms. Then it’s separated into the front and back, which are knit back and forth through shoulder and neck shaping. Sets of held stitches are joined at the shoulders using 3 Needle Bind Off. Sleeves are made from picked up stitches at the armholes, with decreases for shaping while knitting broken seed stitch pattern.
