This is the knitting pattern for a traditional tea cosy (tea cozy). The pattern has instructions for two sizes and is worked in Aran (10ply) weight yarn.

Size
Large for a 6 mug tea pot—cosy measures 50.75 cm (20 in) all round lower edge x 17.75 cm (7 in ) tall.
Medium for a 4 mug tea pot—cosy measures 40.5cm (16 in) round x 17.75 cm (6 in ) tall.

Materials
Pair of 4.5 mm knitting needles (US7)
A 2 x 50g balls Navia Trio Red
B 12 x 50g balls Navia Trio Cream

To Substitute: Use any Aran weight yarn with a standard knit tension of 18/19 sts and 25/26 rows to 10 cm square worked on 4.5 mm (US7) needles.
