The Traiblaze Socks are all colorwork socks inspired by the essence of adventure and determination. Inspired by my own experiences on winter runs, I created these socks to keep my feet toasty and lightweight, no matter how far I run.

Instructions are for magic loop, but you can of course use DPNs.

Size
One size EU 38-39 (approx. 24 cm), US women’s shoe sizes 7.5-8.5 or US men’s shoe sizes 6-7, (9.5 inches).
Circumference 21,5 cm (8 inches).
Easily modified for larger size (use sport-weight yarn instead of fingering-weight).

Yarn
Fingering weight sock yarns (approx. 425 m / 100 g).

The original socks are knitted from Nurja Merino Sock (75 % merino wool, 25 % polyamide, 425 m / 465 yds / 100 g), colorways Ruoste (rust) and Kalkiitti (grayish white).

Other budget-friendly yarn options: Filcolana Arwetta, Regia 4-ply, Lang Yarns Jawoll. Note if you use these you’ll need 2 balls of MC and 1 ball of CC.

MC 50 g (212 m / 219 yds) , CC 30 g (130 m / 142 yds)

Needles
2 mm (US 0) and 2.25 mm (US 1) circular needles 80-100 cm.

The heels are knitted in a reinforced stitch pattern and the round French heels give the socks a good fit. Gusset decreases are located on the sole. Toe is finished with kitchener stitch. All colorwork is charted.
