This welted beanie uses slipped stitches to draw the eyes up. Combined with the bright green color, I’m reminded of verdant trails, thus the name. Its simple, repetitive pattern is great for TV knitting or for a beginner looking to branch out beyond stockinette and garter stitch. While textured, Trails highlights a nicely variegated yarn like Malabrigo Rios very well. Add a faux fur pom for some flair or hand it over to your favorite dude—Trails is a great unisex hat pattern that will fly off your needles. Wear it with the brim folded for a classic beanie look or unfolded for a slouchy hat.

Notions: You’ll need one stitch marker to demarcate the beginning of the row.
