Trails and Streams Hat
Inspired by the trails and streams that meander through the woods of our National Parks this hat will keep you toasty while you are hiking the Pacific Crest, the Appalachian Trail, or around your neighborhood.
The two knit one purl ribbing flows naturally into standard 2 x 1 cables and a simple 1 x 1 traveling stitch. These two elements twine together as they reach the top of the hat. Shaping is worked into the pattern and concludes with the cables and traveling stitches decreasing together.
Add a pom-pom in the same or a contrasting color for a bit of whimsy. Or leave it off for a more classic beanie. Knit the brim 2 inches for a standard look or 5 inches and fold up the brim.
