“THIS STITCH pattern was inspired by a view of tram tracks seen in Ghent, Belgium, and the development of this stitch motif was the subject of my first ‘Notes from my Sketchbook’ article in Issue 142,” says Emma Vining. “For this sweater, I have extended my original swatch into a zigzagging rib-style design. The zigzags are a combination of travelling cables with sections of different textures, representing the tram track intersections.” Emma’s short-sleeved sweater is knitted in Novita’s DK-weight Nordic Wool, which offers excellent stitch definition.
