This Roositud hat is part of a set that is the eighth release in a series of 12 patterns that form my Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book. You can buy the Tramways Set individually or as part of the Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book.

The Tramways Building in Montréal was the source of inspiration for this design. The curvy patterns are so beautiful! I knew that Roositud would be perfect. Roositud is an Estonian technique for doing colorwork in the round on a small part of the garment, and it’s fully explained in the pattern. It typically uses a yarn that is slightly thicker than the main color of yarn being knit.

This hat is stockinette and is written in 3 sizes, but can easily be customized to be smaller, larger, or deeper for a slouchy fit.

The large hat sample used approximately 200yds/183m of Tanis Fiber Arts Blue Label Fingering Weight yarn in Brick (main color) and approximately 7.5yds/7m of Tanis Fiber Arts Yellow Label DK Weight yarn in Natural.
