We have all been through various transformations in our lives, whether it was brought on by an external event, such as a marriage or the birth of a child, an accomplishment, like earning TKGA’s Master Hand Knitting certificate, or even an internal event, like a new understanding that results in becoming your more authentic self. There is no better metaphor of transformation than the butterfly that begins its life as a lowly worm and transforms into such a beautiful, colorful creature. In my explorations of working intarsia in the round, I chose the butterfly to celebrate our ability to adapt and transform as life changes us repeatedly as we age.
