Trebarwith Valley
Trebarwith Valley combines a beautiful self-striping yarn, a large, triangular shape with bands of diamond lace and zigzag patterns to create a cozy and warm shawl.
Trebarwith Valley was published in The Knitter issue 138.
Materials:
Scheepjes Whirligig (DK; 20% alpaca/80% wool; 1000m/1093yds per 450g ball) x 1 ball. Shown in shade: 213 Sapphire to Teal.
5mm (UK 6/US 8) circular needles (80cm/32in or 100cm/40in)
Difficulty level:
Easy/Intermediate (see skills required below).

Basic Skills: cast on, knit, purl, sl wyif
Decreases: k2tog, k2tog tbl, ssk, sk2po
Increases: yo
Lace (using Charts or Written Instructions)

Russian Cast-off (see pattern)
Size:
Wingspan: 224cm/89½in
Depth: 118cm/47¼in
Tension:
12.5 sts and 24 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart B after blocking.
Exact tension is not essential but a difference in tension may affect the final size and amount of yarn used.
